Clean Membranes Launches its Sand Filter Backwash Recycle System for Competition Pools

Tyngsborough, MA, November 13, 2015 -- At this year’s WEFTEC 2015 (Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference) held September 26-30th in Chicago, Clean Membranes announced its new product for the treatment and recycle of sand filter backwash water as a cost-saving upgrade for the maintenance of competition pools and water parks. The new system, easily integrated with existing pool water filtration systems, reduces the requirement for fresh make-up water by up to 90 percent, with equivalent reductions in the amount of energy that would otherwise be required to heat that water to pool temperature and the amount of wastewater that would otherwise have to be discharged to the sewer.

“Facilities managers for Olympic-sized pools can typically be expected to realize a payback in as little as a year, depending upon local energy, water, and sewer rates, while also conserving water,” noted Guy Marchesseault, VP of Corporate and Business Development at Clean Membranes.

“Our goal is to apply advanced ultrafiltration technology to solve water treatment problems in markets where our products and expertise can make a difference,” Guy said. “Our sand filter backwash recycle system is particularly well suited to the aquatic center market.”

The new system is available in several standard configurations. Custom versions are also available. Read More
